What it is

Synthesia is a browser-based tool for making presenter-style videos without filming. You write or paste a script, pick an AI avatar and voice, and the platform renders a video. It is built mainly for workplace content such as training, onboarding, product walkthroughs and internal announcements.

Who it suits

Synthesia's own pages say it has over 1 million users and is used by more than 90% of the Fortune 100 (its Series E announcement, January 2026). It fits teams that produce a lot of instructional video and need to update or translate it often, since changing a script is quicker than reshooting. Its newer focus is interactive avatars and roleplay sessions for learning.

What it costs

The Basic plan is free and covers about 10 minutes of video a month. Starter and Creator plans are priced in credits, and Enterprise is priced on request. Prices on the page we fetched were in US dollars, with no VAT statement.

Where it falls short

Usage is capped by credits on every self-serve plan, and no UK-pound price was shown.
