What it is

Mistral Vibe is the new name for Le Chat, Mistral AI's assistant, announced on 28 May 2026. Accounts, chats and plans carried over, and it still runs at chat.mistral.ai and in the iOS and Android apps. Its two main modes are Work, which covers ordinary conversation as well as multi-step tasks, and Code for developers working in the terminal, VS Code, JetBrains or Zed (a legacy Chat mode is being folded into Work). Web search, document libraries, image generation and scheduled tasks sit alongside.

Who it suits

It fits UK and European users who want a Paris-based provider and an opt-out from model training on every plan. Organisations that need to keep data in-house can deploy it self-hosted, in a private cloud or on-premises under Enterprise. Developers get the most from Pro, which covers coding as well as chat.

How pricing works

The Free plan caps messages, web searches and coding sessions. On the web, Pro is $14.99 or €14.99 a month before tax. Through the UK App Store it's £14.99, or £149.99 for a year. Team is $24.99 per user a month and adds 30GB of storage per user, domain verification and data export. Enterprise pricing is on request. If you run past your limit, you can buy pay-as-you-go credits.

Where it falls short

The web pricing page quotes only dollars and euros, and VAT is added at checkout. Paid limits are given as multiples of the free allowance, such as 'up to 6x' messages, so it's hard to know when you'll hit a cap. Connectors and custom MCP support are still labelled beta. Older guides and reviews still use the Le Chat name, and the App Store listing keeps the old URL slug.
