What it is
Grok is the chat assistant from SpaceXAI, the company that joined SpaceX in February 2026 and traded as xAI until its July 2026 rename. You can use it at grok.com, in the iOS and Android apps, or inside X. It answers questions using live results from the web and from posts on X. It also writes and debugs code, reads uploaded files up to 150 MB each, and makes images and short videos through Grok Imagine.
Who it suits
It fits people who already spend time on X and want answers that reflect what's being posted today. Connectors for Gmail, Outlook, Google Drive, SharePoint and Salesforce make it usable for office work too. Companies can move to Grok Business, which is SOC 2 Type I and II compliant and doesn't train on customer data.
How pricing works
There's a free tier with lower limits. The UK App Store lists four paid tiers: SuperGrok Lite at £10, SuperGrok at £30, SuperGrok Plus at £100 and SuperGrok Heavy at £300. Paid plans share one weekly usage allowance across chat, Imagine, voice and Build, and you can buy extra credit packs from £5 to £100 when it runs out. X Premium+ (£31 a month) includes SuperGrok access. Grok Business is $30 per user a month, and Enterprise is priced on request.
Where it falls short
Answers that draw on X posts carry whatever errors those posts contain, so check the citations before relying on them. The Grok assistant itself has no desktop app, though the separate Grok Bot agents product has macOS and Windows apps. The jumps between tiers are large, and consumer prices are easier to find in the app stores than on grok.com.
